The two below go together very nicely.
A hat tip to my mom for the Light of the Universe piece from the
Patriot Post.
The Advent Calendar is complete with 25 images from the Hubble Space Telescope. It's amazing to me that there is a vast macrocosmic creation that we are learning more about almost daily and at the same time we can look down at the microcosmic level into things like molecules, viruses and subatomic particles. If you could stand back and take in the entire created universe, we ourselves would become microscopic and, from a purely physical point of view, very insignificant:
...what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:4 ESV
Whether it realizes it or not, science - as it continues to discover new things about creation - is in fact enlarging the guilt and condemnation of those who would deny a Creator. The more we know, the less excuse we have. As it says in Romans:
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.
Romans 1:18-23 ESV
Check out the pics and be sure to read the piece from the Patriot Post as well.
